About Me

Snehal Bhoola, MD, joined City of Hope® Phoenix in November 2023, bringing with him two decades of experience as a Gynecologic Oncologist. He primarily sees patients at the City of Hope Cancer Care location in Gilbert, where he treats ovarian, cervical, uterine, vulvar, endometrial and other gynecologic malignancies. Motivated to speed up recovery and reduce scarring, Dr. Bhoola became a specialist in minimally invasive procedures. In a field where experience is vital, he has conducted more than 3,500 robotic-assisted surgeries.

Dr. Bhoola incorporates clinical research into his practice, with a particular interest in offering his patients access to the leading-edge therapies for gynecologic cancers. Board certified in gynecologic oncology as well as obstetrics and gynecology, he has been included on Phoenix Magazine’s list of Top Docs 12 times and counting.

Dr. Bhoola joined City of Hope in large part because of the institution’s reputation for compassionate, patient-centered care and innovative clinical trials. He makes it a priority to partner with patients to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their needs, goals, priorities and psychosocial well-being.

“Cancer treatment is not just about the physical body,” he says. “The journey we go through together includes finding peace.”

After earning his medical degree from Emory University’s School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Bhoola completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. During his residency he rotated as a distinguished Felix Rutledge Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He completed his fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

Before City of Hope, Dr. Bhoola served in leadership roles in the gynecologic oncology programs of cancer groups in Arizona and Georgia, in addition to leading programs at the University Medical Center Phoenix and Mercer University in Savannah, Georgia. He is also an associate clinical professor at the University of Arizona School of Medicine, which has repeatedly recognized him for excellence in resident and medical-student education.

Dr. Bhoola is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a full member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons. As a physician-researcher, he has published peer-reviewed studies covering a number of topics, including innovative treatments for ovarian cancer.

Outside of City of Hope, Dr. Bhoola loves spending time with his wife, who is also a physician, and their daughter. He enjoys cooking, baking, traveling and playing tennis.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
