Dr. Kaoutar Tlemcani was drawn to the opportunity to be part of an organization that makes patient-focused care its mission. “Cancer Treatment Centers of America is home to thought leaders and researchers who are committed to the advancement of cancer care," she says. "They are pioneers in integrative medicine, and they offer patients the wide variety of available tools to fight cancer. I knew this is where I needed to be.”

Dr. Tlemcani is devoted to providing the knowledge and resources cancer patients need to make informed decisions. “Each patient is an individual with a unique background. It is my job to learn about my patients and to determine how to serve each person’s needs,” she says. “I see my responsibility as providing up-to-date care designed to help patients live as long as possible as independent, pain-free and dignified people.”

Board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Tlemcani earned a medical degree from Mohamed V University in Rabat, Morocco. She completed an internal medicine residency at Englewood Hospital & Medical Center (an affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine) in Englewood, New Jersey. During her tenure at Englewood Hospital, Dr. Tlemcani served as chief resident. She also completed a fellowship in hematology-oncology at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York.

Prior to her position at CTCA®, Dr. Tlemcani served as an attending physician in hematology-oncology at a Pennsylvania hospital. Dr. Tlemcani has been published in CHEST, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She is on the faculty of the Rosalind Franklin University-Chicago Medical School and is actively involved in teaching medical students there.
