Cynthia Ingram joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Chicago, in 2004 as a registered nurse case manager. She is responsible for assessing the sexual health needs of patients at CTCA Chicago and for promoting a quality sexual wellness program and services for patients and caregivers.

“Intimacy and sexuality are an important part of our own identity as an individual and as a couple,” she says. “The need for connection, touch, caring and pleasure are central to the human experience.”

Ingram helps to integrate sexual health expertise into patients’ cancer care teams and develops opportunities to expand sexual health services into other areas of cancer care and community services.

Ingram holds a Bachelor of Science degree in health arts from the College of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Ingram is a chapter leader for the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) in Northeast Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin and a member of the American Association of Occupation Health Nurses (AAOHN).

Prior to her current position, Ingram led the Animal-Assisted Therapy program at CTCA Chicago®. She and her dog Tori are active members of Dogs of Endearment Dog Therapy Group and the Delta Society.

In her downtime, Ingram enjoys exploring the outdoors, cooking, gardening, biking and training for and participating in sprint triathlons, which she has done for the past several years.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
