Dr. Eyal Meiri brings to Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) more than two decades of experience practicing medicine. He joined our Atlanta hospital as a Medical Oncologist in August 2013.

While Dr. Meiri has treated a variety of cancers since 1988, he has developed an interest in gastrointestinal malignancies, particularly pancreatic cancer and neuroendocrine tumors.

“My overall goal is to provide patients and their caregivers hope,” says Dr. Meiri. “I offer a realistic and comforting approach to managing each patient’s treatment plan, which is developed with the team of clinicians at CTCA®.”

In his approach, Dr. Meiri views each patient as a whole person. He strives to help patients understand the scope of their disease and to learn about their expectations. Working with other clinicians, Dr. Meiri develops a treatment plan that comprehensively addresses patient and caregiver needs.

Dr. Meiri was in practice in Palm Beach County, Florida, from 1996 to 2013 after working in Richmond, California, between 1988 and 1996. Dr. Meiri served on several committees at two South Florida hospitals, including three years as Cancer Care Committee chairman of one hospital.

Dr. Meiri earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto in 1983. He completed a three-year internal medicine residency at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit in 1986. Dr. Meiri then had a two-year fellowship in oncology and hematology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

The American Board of Internal Medicine has certified Dr. Meiri in Internal Medicine, with subspecialty certification in Medical Oncology.

While in practice in South Florida, Dr. Meiri worked on about 60 clinical trials between 2003 and 2009. Most of the clinical trials examined the efficacy of various pharmaceuticals.

At CTCA, Dr. Meiri is excited about using advanced diagnostic tools such as genomic tumor assessment, which identifies the genetic abnormalities occurring in an individual patient’s cancer to tailor treatment options to the individual.

“The diagnostic and therapeutic options available to cancer patients have undergone rapid evolution over the past few years,” says Dr. Meiri. “Utilizing tools such as genomic tumor assessment provides new potential targets for treating the patient's cancer.”

Dr. Meiri is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. While in South Florida, he served on the Community Advisory Board of the Leukemia Society.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Meiri enjoys spending time with his family going to museums and concerts or eating out. He is addicted to hockey and a rabid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He loves to read about a variety of subjects, including history and biographies. Dr. Meiri also is working on his golf game.

Patient Ratings
The patient ratings and comments on this page are obtained from an external Press Ganey® outpatient survey provided to all eligible CTCA patients within one to two weeks of their treatment occurrence. Raw data from the answers to the survey questions about our physicians are calculated by Press Ganey into a one- to five- star rating. In the spirit of transparency, all patient comments are posted as written by the patient, whether they are positive or negative. We only exclude comments if they are deemed to be slanderous or libelous, contain profanity or vulgar language, or do not relate to the patient's experience with the doctor involved including comments directed at hospital COVID-19 policies and procedures. As a result, the comments are the views and opinions of the patients surveyed and are not endorsed by, and may not necessarily reflect the opinion of, CTCA.
