Acupuncture is a form of ancient Chinese medicine in which fine, sterile needles are applied to specific areas of the body, or acupoints. After acupuncture needles are applied to specific areas of the body, they’re usually left in place for a few minutes.

At Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), our acupuncturists are experienced practitioners who offer techniques that may help alleviate certain treatment-related side effects, such as nausea and vomiting, pain, lymphedema and other common symptoms, such as stress. If you choose to incorporate acupuncture into your care plan, your acupuncturist will be in regular communication with your care team to evaluate your progress.

Acupuncture is a modality often provided over multiple sessions. Recognizing the importance of maintaining that continuity of care, our acupuncturists can work with you to identify and refer you to qualified acupuncturists in your home community.
