Traci Owen is a registered nurse at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, focusing on sexual health and wellness. She joined CTCA® in 2005 as an Oncology Care Manager helping to coordinate care and actively monitor patients through their cancer journey. In 2014, she joined a multi-disciplinary team to discuss and research the sexual side effects commonly experienced by oncology patients and quickly recognized that this was an area in health care that needed to be addressed. Owen expanded her role as a registered nurse and in 2015 she began working with patients and their partners to address concerns related to relational intimacy and sexuality. In 2020, Owen received her certification as a Sexual Counselor by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), and is the only Certified Sexuality Counselor (CSC) in the state of Oklahoma.

Owen works with both male and female patients, along with their partners, to address any sexual concerns related to various medical diagnoses, cancer treatments and menopause. She advises couples on opportunities to stay connected during times of challenge and provides emotional support throughout their care into survivorship. In addition to seeing CTCA patients and caregivers, Owen also sees individuals in the community. To request an appointment with Owen, please call 918-286-5900 and ask to speak with Traci Offutt.

“I strive to provide a safe environment where people can feel open to new information regarding intimacy and pleasure,” says Owen. “My ultimate goal for patients is that they will feel equipped, encouraged and empowered to pursue the intimate relationship they want to share with their partner.”

Owen received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. She earned a certificate in Sexuality Counseling and Education from the University of Michigan. Owen is an invited lecturer and has presented at various cancer support groups and healthcare settings. She is also an active author, contributing to several publications in the Cancer Fighters Thrive® magazine.

Outside of CTCA, Owen stays very busy. She has a servant heart and seeks out opportunities to care for others. Owen serves many roles as wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, friend, nurse and volunteer. She enjoys spending time with her husband, her fiercest advocate and best friend. Owen’s adult children, grandchildren and extended family are the joys of her life.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
