Cancer Treatment Centers of America Philadelphia Earns Prestigious Designations in Nursing Excellence and Patient Experience

November 23, 2020

Honors include ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® Designation and Press Ganey’s Pinnacle of Excellence Award

Philadelphia, Pa.– (November 23, 2020) – Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) Philadelphia today announced it has achieved Magnet designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). CTCA® Philadelphia is one of only a small and select group of hospitals nationwide to receive this honor, the highest national honor for nursing excellence.

In addition, CTCA Philadelphia was recently named a 2020 Pinnacle of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey. This award recognizes top-performing health care organizations nationwide based on extraordinary achievement and consistently high levels of excellence in patient experience for at least three consecutive years.

“There is no understating what these achievements mean—both to us here at CTCA Philadelphia and within the industry as a whole,” says Joanne McGovern, MSN, RN, CCRN, Chief Nursing Officer of CTCA Philadelphia. “These honors demonstrate our culture of unyielding patient centricity that drives every single decision we make. I’m beyond proud of nurses for their elevated level of professionalism, and our team as a whole for consistently delivering an outstanding level of excellence in quality care and patient satisfaction.”

As the most prestigious nursing recognition bestowed on an organization, a Magnet designation is awarded for the delivery of high-quality and safe patient outcomes, innovation in practice, growth in professionalism, and overall nursing excellence. A hospital that has been recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program® is one that has met and/or exceeded these standards. CTCA Philadelphia achieved Magnet designation, with 12 exemplary category ratings, through a rigorous application process which began in July 2017.
